Genesis
So it begins, my journey to Africa, Senegal, somewhere far from here. I am beginning to welcome this adventure with greater enthusiasm than I have previously experienced. I leave in only 10 days which sounds like plenty of time to pack except that it isn't so easy to pack for two years. Do you know the clothes you want to wear for an indefinite amount of time?

Yes, so it begins. Not only for you, but mom and myself. It's so hard to imagine you being gone for 2 years. Yet there is a part of me that is very jealous.
Know that you will be with me always. I'm looking forward to living in Senegal vicariously thru you.
.... and wondering what this blog will look like 27 months from now....and the sadness you will be experiencing as you begin to prepare to come back home. Hopefully you will be coming back home!
I'm proud, excited and scared.......and I have some idea what clothes I would take for an indefinite period of time.....but your mom would be lost!

It is Monday Sept 18 and Brad is on his way. Good to see you these last few days. Our family will miss you and be with you in thought and prayer. I can't wit to see the clothes you pick out for your everyday wear. I am sure you will fit right in.
Talk to you soon.
Hi Brad
hope all is going well. I am proud of you (even though I sometimes kick myself for raising you to be so aware and giving). looking forward to you adding many many more comments

Hey Brad, I am so very happy for you...sorry you had to leave me saying good bye the way you did, and sorry I don't remember much of what we talked about, but know I love you and you are in my prayers...

I think Ramadan started this weekend? Did people encourage you to try fasting, etc. or do they seem supportive of you not observing? Speaking of meals... what do you think of the food so far? I'm excited to hear more!
pictures, I want pictures, lots of pictures, of you, of them, of it, you know, post'em for us all to look at!!!
I love and miss you. I hope you are collecting bugs over there.
Hey brad, hope all is going well. Pretty much the same old stuff around here. Everyone from the restaurant has been asking about you and said hi, it's actually really annoying because I was trying to lock you out of my thoughts. We beat CU this year and started off 4-1 and we have now lost 2 in a row, I'll keep you posted on our tailspin. Jason's moving to vail in a week for an emt job, bryan is going bacl to americorps to be a team leader in maryland when he graduates in dec. Jesse's going back to hawaii in dec. and rick is still a nerd. I will become an endentured servant to my internship and coaching practicum next semester. Kemper says hi and I think that pretty much catches you up on the major stuff. Do good things.
